Hartford Hospital
Hartford Hospital serves as our primary teaching site.  This 850-bed tertiary care center houses all medical specialties and is rated among one of the top 100 Hospitals in the country, as well as one of the nation’s largest voluntary, not-for-profit hospitals. The 61 bed emergency department, which underwent a complete renovation in 2001, has an annual volume of 80,000 patients a year (the largest in the state).  Hartford Hospital also serves as the areas only level 1 trauma center and is home of the state’s only aeromedical helicopter service.  It is also the location of New England’s largest multi-chamber hyperbaric oxygen facility and The Connecticut Simulation Center.

John Dempsey Hospital
The 232 bed hospital at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington provides highly specialized inpatient, outpatient and primary care services. The Health Center is home to the medical, dental and graduate schools and the New England regional Library of Medicine.  The 20 bed emergency department affords the experience of both a university and community setting.  Residents rotate here during their PGY1 and PGY3 year.

Connecticut Children's Medical Center
Connecticut Children's Medical Center opened its doors in 1996 and is the state’s only free standing children’s hospital.  This 135 bed facility serves as the regions pediatric tertiary care facility housing all pediatric subspecialties under one roof.  CCMC’s 25 bed Emergency Department is staffed by pediatric fellowship trained emergency medicine physicians and sees an annual census of over 50,000 visits per year.  Emergency Medicine Residents work two to three shifts a month at CCMC during their ED rotations and have one month dedicated Pediatric ED months during their PGY2 and PGY3 year.

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center
Saint Francis Hospital is a 600 bed level 2 trauma center in Hartford that anchors a regional healthcare system and includes the Hoffman Heart Institute of Connecticut, the Saint Francis/ Mount Sinai Regional Cancer Center and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Connecticut.  Internal medicine, cardiac ICU, surgical ICU and orthopedic rotations are located here.

Manchester Memorial Hospital
ManchesterMemorialHospital is a 249 bed hospital located about 10 minutes east of downtown Hartford and is the location of our adult anesthesiology rotation.  Being the only resident in the operating room daily affords a unique opportunity for high numbers of intubations and excellent bedside teaching.
